The Toronto Blue Jays and pitcher Jose Berrios are expected to part ways through trade this off-season and it looks like they have finally found a potential partner.
Berrios recently spoke to the media for the first time since the playoffs yesterday in which he spoke about his on-going injury problems but added that his goal is to pitch for Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic.
Blue Jays might look at trade with the Giants for Jose Berrios
The Giant starting rotation needs some help with only two reliable pitchers in Logan Webb and Robbie Ray, they seem to be in the market for a new starting pitcher.
According to reports, Berrios could be a perfect fit for the Giants as he could come in the number three spot in the rotation. Berrios is coming off a tough season in which he lost his starting role with the Blue Jays but a change in scenary could be exactly what he needs to get back on track.

The reason that it is believed that Berrios would be a good fit for San Francisco is that GM Buster Posey has often thought outside the box and would like to take a chance on Berrios bouncing back.
President of baseball operations Buster Posey has been creative and aggressive with his resources since assuming the role. He might prefer banking on Berrios to bounce back in a better environment rather than overpaying for a frontline starter in free agency. -Wrixon
The unfortunate part in a trade for the Blue Jays is that if they want to get his contract off the payroll they cannot expect to get much of a return after the season he had in 2025.
While Berrios' 2025 season was not atrocious, his numbers did slip across the board as he finished with a 4.17 ERA in 31 games with a 9-5 record and 138 strike outs. This was his worst ERA since 2022 when he first got to Toronto and finished with a 5.23 ERA.
Most expect Berrios to bounce back next season especially if he is moved but a big factor is also how well he will recover from his elbow injury.
