The Toronto Blue Jays currently sit in first place in the AL East and despite the standing just got a very rough starting rotation ranking heading into the playoffs.

The Blue Jays bullpen has been under scrutiny lately while the starting rotation has been struggling as well but has been flying under the radar.

Blue Jays get brutal starting rotation ranking heading into the playoffs

The Blue Jays bullpen has clearly been a massive issue lately as not team has more blown saves over the last two weeks and heading into this past weekend this had an ERA of 5.00.
"In recent weeks, there isn't a team that has blown more saves than the Blue Jays. Their ERA over the last two weeks sat at 5.00 entering their weekend series against the New York Yankees." -Teape

While the Blue Jays have bullpen issues, it looks like they also have some starting rotation issues as they were ranked 12th among the 12 playoff teams as of right now.
"Over at The Athletic (subscription required), Eno Sarris has shared rankings for the starting rotations in the current playoff field. Out of the 12 teams holding a postseason spot currently, the Blue Jays have the No. 12 ranked rotation. Only the San Diego Padres were ranked lower." -Teape

While the Blue Jays rotation has had a lot of up and downs this season, ranking them last when they currently hold first place in the AL East seems to be a tad harsh.
Understandably, the Blue Jays have failed to win a series in almost 10 years in the playoffs which is likely the reason for their low ranking but at the same time that should not affect how they team is ranked this season.
Hopefully once the playoffs begin this year, Kevin Gausman, Max Scherzer and the rest of the rotation will prove this ranking wrong and show up in a big way.
While the Blue Jays still hold first place as of right now, they are coming off a tough series loss in New York and still have a few difficult matchups before the end of the season that they need to win to secure first place.
