Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette's contract is coming to an end and during a recent interview, Bichette admitted that he knows his time with the team is likely coming to an end.

Bichette has been struggling a bit at the plate so far this season which has brought his value down which could end up making it possible for the Blue Jays to re-sign him but it seems unlikely as of right now.

Bo Bichette states that he knows team's are interested in him but he is focusing on the season right now

During a recent interview, Bichette acknowledged that if he were to move to another team, he is hoping to keep playing shortstop but that at the same time he understands that some team's have shortstops that would not switch positions.
Clearly Bichette would love to stay in Toronto but he also understands that there is a good chance he is playing for another team next season.
«I know there are teams that have shortstops that wouldn't move,» Bichette said. «But I'm just focused on what I can do right now to help my team win, whatever way I can.» -Bichette

According to Mitch Bannon, apart from the Blue Jays, the Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves would be very interested in acquiring Bichette since both would benefit from the addition.
«There are certainly teams for which Bichette will be an obvious shortstop option, including the Blue Jays. The Milwaukee Brewers rank last in baseball with minus-1.5 wins above average from the position and have plenty of money coming off the books.

The Atlanta Braves haven't finished higher than 20th in shortstop wins above average since 2022. If you expand to teams that could use a second baseman, though, Bichette's potential market opens even more,» -Bannon

The ideal situation would be for the Blue Jays to find a way to bring back Bichette on a reasonable contract but the chances that he signs a hometown discount deal are slim since he has proven that he can be an all-star caliber player in the past.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Bichette and the Blue Jays over the next few months.
