Buck Martinez completely bashes Blue Jays Bowden Francis in latest interview
The Toronto Blue Jays have been having a lot of problems with pitcher Bowden Francis and broadcaster Buck Martinez did not hold back during interview on his thoughts of the young pitcher.
The Blue Jays have been one of the hottest teams in the MLB lately but their biggest issue has been Bowden Francis, who cannot seem to string together a couple good innings in a row right now.
Blue Jays Broadcaster Buck Martinez rips into Bowden Francis
Buck Martinez' opinion is quite respect around the city of Toronto and when he speaks people tend to listen and agree which seems to be the case with his latest comments on Francis.
Martinez straight up stated that the Blue Jays cannot have Francis start another game as it is the only thing causing them multiple problems right now.
«(The Jays) are playing pretty good, but they can't start Bowden Francis another start,» Martinez said. «It's the one thing that's causing them so many issues. The fourth and fifth spots (in the rotation) have been the issues all season long." -Martinez
The Blue Jays broadcaster then added that he does not think the Blue Jays will end up starting Francis again after how he has been playing while also saying that being a consistent starter in baseball is the hardest job out there.
«I'd be surprised if they start (Francis) again. He's just too inconsistent. It just highlights how difficult it is to be a long-term starter in the major leagues. It's the toughest position in baseball, to be a consistent starter." -Martinez
However, according to reports yesterday, Blue Jays manager John Schneider stated that Francis is expected to make his next start against the Philadelphia Phillies towards the end of the week.
As of now Bowden Francis slated to make his next start vs. Phillies per manager John Schneider. Jays balancing rest for their starters vs. trying to win as much as possible now, Schneider said.
This is brutal for the Blue Jays who desperately need Max Scherzer back as soon as possible.
