The Toronto Blue Jays had a tough loss to the Cincinnati Reds in which starting pitcher Chris Bassitt had a few harsh comments for the rotation.
The Blue Jays bullpen has been going through it lately as many have even been questioning if Jeff Hoffman should keep his position as the team's closer which manager John Schneider confirmed that he will be for now.
Chris Bassitt points how starting rotation needs to be better
Bassitt was on the mound for the Blue Jays this afternoon and had a solid performance finishing with 4 hits, 2 earned run 6 strikeouts and 2 walks in 6 innings pitched.
The Blue Jays bullpen struggled once again resulting in a loss to the Reds but after the game Bassitt was critical of the starting rotation saying they need to be better to take pressure off the bullpen.
Chris Bassitt said he & fellow Blue Jays starters want & need to do a better job of covering innings to help lessen the toll on the team's bullpen.
"I know there's probably a lot of hatred, so to speak, on the bullpen, but I mean those guys are tired."
