Colorado Rockies owner Dick Monfort is the latest MLB team owner to call out the league regarding the salary cap debate.
The MLB has been looking at a ton of new rules of the last few years on and off the field which the biggest one is if they should implement a salary cap to make the league more balanced.

The MLB remains the only major sports league in North America without a salary cap as the NHL, NFL and NBA all have their own versions of a salary cap to balance out the skill on each team.
Many owners, especially the teams with smaller incomes, have been pushing to have a salary cap implemented since they cannot compete with powerhouses such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and a few others.
The latest owner to call out the MLB is Rockies owner Dick Monfort who believes that the league needs to implement this as it is not fair that the same 5-7 teams always have the best players.
Rockies owner Dick Monfort is the latest figure in MLB to call for a salary cap, as he believes the «competitive imbalance in baseball has gotten to the point of ludicrosity now,» according to Mark Kiszla of the Denver GAZETTE. He said of MLB, «It's an unregulated industry.» -Monfort
Monfort believes that the only way to fix this issues is to implement a salary cap which would put all the teams regardless of income the same chance at success.
«The only way to fix baseball is to do a salary cap and a floor. ... For a lot of teams, the question is: How do they get to the floor? And that includes us, probably. But on some sort of revenue-split deal, I would be all-in.» -Monfort
The MLB has had a few team owners such as the Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles that have also agreed with this thinking since they believe the same as Monfort.
It will be interesting to see if Rob Manfred decides to change any rules regarding this since he has mentioned in the past that the league is considering it.
