The Texas Rangers announced a few days ago that former Toronto Blue Jays legend Kevin Pillar has cleared waivers and been released which will likely be the end of his career.
The Rangers DFA'd Pillar early last week to make room on their roster for new players and it looks like Pillar had no interest in heading down to the Rangers minor league affiliate team.

The chances of Pillar finding a new landing spot at his age are very slim which is why it is likely that this ends up being the end of his career since he will not be able to get another contract.
Pillar already was debating calling it a career last off-season then made a decision late into Spring Training to return which is why this seems like the most likely course of action.
