Dillon Tate will not be getting another chance with the Toronto Blue Jays

If the Blue Jays hope to bounce back, they're unlikely to turn to Dillon Tate anytime soon.
Toronto optioned the 31-year-old Dillon Tate to Triple-A Buffalo before Wednesday's loss to the Angels after he logged a 5.06 ERA and a 7:6 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 5.1 innings with the Blue Jays.

Jake Elman from Yahoo Sports writes Tate performed significantly better in the minors, recording a 1.50 ERA with seven strikeouts and just one walk over six innings.
"It's been a rough few years for Tate, who recorded a 3.05 ERA and 1.2 bWAR for the 2022 Baltimore Orioles. However, he missed all of 2023 with right forearm and flexor issues, and he gave the Orioles a 4.59 ERA and -0.1 bWAR in 29 games last season." -Elman
Tate gave up two runs over 3.1 innings with the Blue Jays last September, and the team brought him back on a new deal during spring training.
Elman also writes that Tate, the No. 4 overall pick in 2015, has compiled a 7-14 record with a 4.11 ERA across 221 MLB innings. He was previously ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the Rangers' system before being traded to the Yankees in the 2016 deal for Carlos Beltrán.
"Tate subsequently climbed through the Yankees' farm system, placing as high as No. 11 before the 2018 season. However, Baltimore acquired Tate at that year's trade deadline for All-Star closer Zack Britton and later moved him to the bullpen." -Elman
Considering the Yankees' current bullpen struggles, there's a chance Tate could find himself back in pinstripes before the summer is over. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
