The Los Angeles Dodgers crushed the dreams of the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series this past season, and they might make matters worse by signing free agent Bo Bichette, however it would be better for baseball if the star shortstop heads to the Boston Red Sox instead if the Blue Jays fail to sign him.

The Dodgers have enough superstars and adding another would continue to hurt the sports glaring problem of buying championships. but the Red Sox seem to be very interested as well despite certain rumors.

Bo Bichette urged to take his talents to Boston over Los Angeles.

Aaliyan Mohammed of Newsweek reported on the rumours that the Dodgers are pursuing Bichette.
He wouldn't be slotted as a shortstop however, as he isn't the best defensively. The Dodgers would hide him at second base instead, and take advantage of his hitting abilities. The Red Sox would do the same, and it would be better for the sport if he goes there.
"That is just what the rest of baseball needs: the Dodgers adding another superstar. Bichette is an elite hitter, but a poor defender at shortstop. However, playing second base could mask his biggest flaw, and the Dodgers would be an even bigger juggernaut. However, FanSided's Christopher Kline suggested Bichette sign with the Boston Red Sox instead of the Dodgers if the Blue Jays do not re-sign him."-Mohammed

The Red Sox might not re-sign Alex Bregman, meaning Bichette would be the perfect fit in Boston. They are also looking at Ketel Marte, meaning they are still actively searching for a second baseman and Bichette would suit Fenway Park very well.
"Additionally, his ability to hit the ball in the air to the opposite field could be great at Fenway Park. Bichette has led the American League in hits twice and would bring a reliable threat to the lineup."-Mohammed

It's becoming a little discouraging that the Bichette talks are starting to simmer down for the Blue Jays, and other teams are heating up in the negotiations but it would definitely sting a lot more if he goes to the team that defeated the Blue Jays in the World Series, having him in the same division wouldn't be great either, but the Blue Jays will have to pick their poison if they do not re-sign him.
