Former Beloved Toronto Blue Jays Jays catcher Danny Jansen has been dealing with a serious crisis this season as he cannot seem to generate any offense.
The Blue Jays traded Jansen last season at the deadline to the Boston Red Sox as Jansen was set to become a free agent in the off-season in which he signed a one year deal with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Jansen signed a one year deal this off-season in hopes of having a great year in Tampa Bay and landing a multi-year deal next off-season but unfortunately things have been going very poorly for him with the Rays.
So far this season, Jansen has only 10 hits in 68 at bats for the Rays with a .147 batting average to go along with 1 homerun, 5 RBIs, a .3011 on base percentage and .522 OPS.

After a historically bad 2024 offense, those were this teams biggest offensive FA pick ups.
5x they've been shutout (3x vs NYY) 13x they've scored 2 runs or less (1-12 record)
Even Blue Jays fans have been quite happy with the team's decision to keep Alejandro Kirk instead of Jansen since Kirk has been having a much better season so far in 2025.
I look at Danny Jansen's stats then I look at Kirk's. We kept the right one.
Hopefully Jansen is able to turn things around but it does not look good as of right now if not there is no chance he lands a longer deal than he go last off-season.
