Former Blue Jay Rowdy Tellez opens up about being mocked over his weight by Texas radio station
Former Toronto Blue Jays slugger Rowdy Tellez was on Foul Territory recently and opened up about being mocked for his weight by Texas Radio station.
The Rangers announce back at the start of July that they signed Tellez to a minor league contract after being DFA'd by the Seattle Mariners despite having a solid season.

Tellez went on Foul Territory recently to speak on his past few weeks with the Texas Rangers and his on-going season while also adapting to Texas.
During the interview, Tellez spoke on how he was mocked for his weight by a local Radio show when he first arrived to Texas which made him fully shut down during the questions.

According to the interview, the hosts nicknamed Tellez "Girthquake" which he did not find funny at all.
PSA: Do not call Rowdy Tellez "The Girthquake."
Despite this mean comments, Tellez has been playing very well since the Rangers brought him up as he currently has a .268 batting average with a .295 on base percentage and 2 homeruns and 8 RBIs in 17 games.
Tellez spent three and a half years in Toronto which are still some of the best seasons of his career, especially in 2019 when he finished with 21 homeruns and 54 RBIs in 11 games.
