Rangers sign former Blue Jays slugger to a minor league deal Rowdy Tellez to a minor league deal
Tellez was shockingly released by the Mariners after putting up a solid 11 homeruns and 27 RBIs so far this season but it apparently was not enough for Seattle to keep him on their roster.
The Rangers announced that they have agreed to a minor league deal with Tellez and he will likely begin his time in the organization with their team in Triple-A but it should not take too much time to see him back in majors as they need offense.
The 30-year old is batting .208 and has 11 home runs and 27 RBI in 2025. Tellez had a career year in 2022, ranking 5th in the league in HRs (35) and 15th in RBI (89). The Rangers are hoping he finds his way to the main club to provide an offensive boost while Joc Pederson continues his recovery.
