Rowdy Tellez, who spent four seasons with the Blue Jays, made Atlanta's Wild Card Series roster.

The Braves open their playoff series against the Phillies Tuesday at Truist Park, and Tellez is among the names included on the official roster announcement.

Mark Bowman of MLB.com detailed the full picture. "Rowdy Tellez and Luke Williams are both on the roster. Kyle Farmer isn't. As expected Keirsey and Hicklen are. The Braves are carrying 11 pitchers for the Wild Card round."

Tellez appeared in seven games for Atlanta during the middle of the season before getting let go, then re-signed on a minor-league deal.

MLB.com confirmed that move back on July 7. "Atlanta Braves signed free agent 1B Rowdy Tellez to a minor league contract."

How his career carried him from Toronto to this playoff roster

Toronto selected him in the 30th round of the 2013 draft, and he spent his first 3.5 seasons in the majors with the organization.

His best season in a Blue Jays uniform came in 2019, hitting 21 home runs with 54 RBIs across just 111 games.

Since leaving Toronto, he's bounced through stops with the Brewers, Pirates, Mariners, and Rangers over nine big-league seasons, accumulating 123 career home runs.

This latest chapter with Atlanta gives him a genuine shot at postseason baseball, something that's eluded him for most of his career journey through multiple organizations.

The Braves won the NL East with a 94-68 record and are chasing their first World Series title since 2021.
