Roden was struggling at the plate since arriving in Minnesota as he finished the season with a .158 batting average in 12 games along with 6 hits and 1 homerun.
However, the Twins did announce that with the injury they have also called up a former Blue Jay in Genesis Cabrera who they signed to a minor league deal a few days ago.

While Roden has had a season filled with up and downs, at least he will now be able to take his time, recover and get ready for next season as he has proved that he can be a solid MLB player this season.
