Former Blue Jays pitcher Jose Urena signs with the Minnesota Twins
The Los Angeles Dodgers release Urena a couple weeks ago and after spending some time in free agency, he has agreed to a minor league deal with the Twins and has been sent to Triple-A affiliate team.
The #MNTwins have signed RHP José Urena to a Minor League deal, and assigned him to Triple-A St. Paul.
This makes the Twins the fourth different org for Urena in 2025, who's previously pitched for the Blue Jays, Mets, and Dodgers.
The #MNTwins are adding RHP Jose Urena to a minor league contract. He's got a 5.40 ERA in 18 innings with three different ball clubs so far this season.
This is Urena's fourth team this season after spending time with the New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Dodgers and now the Minnesota Twins.
Despite moving around quite a bit, Urena put up solid numbers with the Blue Jays finishing with a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched and a 3.00 ERA with the Dodgers in 3 innings pitched.
Hopefully after such a chaotic first half of the 2025 season where Urena has been unable to keep a spot, he will finish the season with the Twins and see some more time in the MLB.
