Leroux stated that GM Ross Atkins cannot trust
Gausman, Bassitt and Berrios in the playoffs against top teams like the New York Yankees or Detroit Tigers due to their lack of consistency.
Leroux stated that Toronto will not be able to take down top teams like the Yankees in the playoffs with their current top 3 pitchers even though then swept them before the All-Star break and beat them last night.
«Can you trust the top three guys in a playoff game? The answer, for me, is no Ross Atkins needs to think about that when he's trying to figure out this roster.»

Gausman clearly proved these comments wrong as he was on the mound yesterday against the Yankees and put on a dominant performance, pitching 7 innings while only giving up 4 hits and 1 earned run giving him a 2.25 ERA against the Yankees in July.
Kevin Gausman vs NYY:

2.25 ERA in 12.0 IP against the Yankees this month.
While the Blue Jays are clearly in need of adding a starting pitcher to their rotation, it is hard to say that it is because of their top 3 pitchers as Bassitt, Gausman and Berrios have all been playign extremely well lately.
