The Toronto Blue Jays have officially signed Tyler Rogers and the full details of his contract have been announced which includes a few surprises.
The Blue Jays announced last week that they agreed to a $37 million deal with Rogers on a three year term that included certain bonuses.

According to insider Jon Heyman, the Blue Jays deal with Rogers is a 3 year deal plus option which also includes a $5 million signing bonus.
In 2026 Rogers is set to earn $7 million followed by $12 million in 2027 and $12 million in 2028. The deal also includes a team option for 2029 at $9 million plus a $1 million buyout.
The option vest at $12 million if Rogers in deemed healthy for the 2029 season and if he reached 110 games pitched between 2027 and 2028 or a total of 60 games in 2028.

This is quite the loaded contract for a pitcher who is now 35 years old and will be 38 years old by the end of this contract.
The Blue Jays clearly got an incredible deal with Rogers who finished with a 1.98 ERA last season but some are worried that this deal will not age well due to his pitching mechanics combined with his age.
