Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer had arguably one of the worst seasons of his career this year which looks like it will have consequences for next season.

The Blue Jays front office keeps speaking of wanting to push for a World Series next year and if that is the truth, the roster needs some big changes since they will not make any real changes within management.
Springer had a rough season at the plate and the 35 year old is clearly not the player he once was which is why the Blue Jays are looking to try him in a different role next season since if they want to win they cannot have him as they main leadoff hitter.
With obvious signs of regression occurring for the 35-year-old veteran, it should be about time that the Jays move on from Springer in the position and try out a more traditional leadoff hitter that could be more effective at getting on base and generating runs. At the same time, Springer can still be productive in driving in runs, so moving him further down the lineup could potentially work wonders. As a result, it could present a win-win situation for the Jays going forward if Springer is willing to take one for the team.- Eng

While Springer has regressed quite a bit over the last year, he could still be a big time difference maker on the Blue Jays roster if they play him the right way and do not lean on him to heavily as if he was 27 years old.
Changes are necessary and in Springer's case these are things that happen to every player at one point or another, you cannot play in the MLB for 15 years and always have the same role, eventually your time comes to let the younger players take over.
