It looks like Springer is quite happy about the Cease signing as he stated that it shows that the team wants to win by adding a pitcher like that to their clubhouse.
«I think it shows where the organization is and it shows where we want to be as a team to go get a guy like that,» Springer told reporters. «To add him (Cease) into our clubhouse will be huge.» -Springer
Springer added that it means a lot to see free agents want to sign long-term deals in Toronto because it shows that they believe in the team and the players that are already there.
«Our team was special, is special to me,» Springer said. «There's a lot that goes into playing this game, so for guys to want to come here, to want to sign up for as long as they have, it means a lot to us and obviously shows who they are as well.» -Springer
Finally, he finished by saying that the players are happy with how last season went but are excited to get back to playing even though the off-season just began.
«Everybody is antsy to get going again,» he continued. «It was a great year for us as a team. A lot to hold our hat on, so to see guys want to come here is special to us in the locker room.» -Springer
Everyone in Toronto seems to be very happy with the team's new additions but according to multiple reports, the front office is far from done adding players to their roster.
