The Toronto Blue Jays have dealt quite a few injuries in their bullpen this season but it looks like they are finally getting a decent arm back for the end of the season.

The Blue Jays just announced a few days ago that they have called up Trey Yesavage that will make his first start today against the Tampa Bay Rays but many expect him to move to the bullpen afterwards.

Blue Jays Nick Sandlin injury update

The Blue Jays bullpen has been their weakness this season due to injuries and consistency issues from pitcher like Jeff Hoffman.
The good news is that they are expected to get Nick Sandlin back for the end of the season and playoffs as he threw a bullpen session last week and will throw another in the coming days as he is ramping up to come back this season.
Nick Sandlin (elbow) threw a bullpen on Tuesday that was described as «OK.»

He'll throw another in the coming days as he continues trying to return to Blue Jays this season.
As of Sept 13, 2025, Blue Jays injured players include:

- Bo Bichette (SS): Knee sprain, expected back mid-late Sept.
- Anthony Santander (OF/DH): Shoulder inflammation, rehabbing, possible return soon.
- Nick Sandlin (RP): Elbow, could return any day.
- Bowden Francis (SP): Shoulder, out until late Sept.
- Adrian Pinto (2B): Undisclosed, out until Sept 14.
- Angel Bastardo (SP): Elbow, out until Sept 15.

Long-term/60-day IL: Robinson Pina (RP, elbow), Yimi Garcia (RP, elbow), Ryan Burr (RP, shoulder) - most out for season. Check http://MLB.com for updates.
This is great news for Toronto since adding Sandlin will give them one more solid options from the bullpen when the playoffs arrive.
Sandlin has been out for the majority of the season but still put up great numbers in the 19 games he has played this season as he has a 2.20 ERA in 16.1 innings pitched this year.
