Gausman began the season sturggling as he has since admitted to coming back from injury too earlier. Lately, he has been playing very well, in the month of May alone Gausman has 20 strikeouts in 14.1 innings pitched while getting at least 6 strikeouts in every game he started.
While game 2 against the White Sox went extremely poorly for the Jays, their offense was on fire in the other two games. Hopefully that series gave their batters a boost of much needed confidence to officially start turning things around.
