Connor Seabold is joining John Schneider in Baltimore, and the Blue Jays are not done moving pieces after the trade with Detroit.
That was the clearest takeaway from Schneider's update. Toronto got Seabold back, but the manager made it plain there is more coming than one simple arrival.
«There will be a little bit of a roster shuffle,» Schneider said. That line matters because Seabold is not just another arm reporting to the taxi squad.
He is out of options, which means the Blue Jays cannot just stash him in the system once he joins the club. If Toronto wants him around, it has to make room on the active roster.
That is where the trade keeps growing. The Blue Jays already cleared 40-man space by moving José Berrios to the 60-day injured list after acquiring Seabold from the Tigers for minor-league lefty Juanmi Vasquez.
Now comes the harder part. John Schneider has to decide which pitcher loses the active spot once Seabold gets to Baltimore.

Why Connor Seabold's arrival forces another move
This is not a mystery built around talent alone. It is roster math, and the math is tight.
Seabold gives Toronto a familiar depth arm. He signed with the Blue Jays on a minor-league deal in January, went through camp with the club, then left when it was clear he was not making the Opening Day roster.
That history matters now because Toronto already knows what it is getting. Seabold is 30, has logged 119.0 MLB innings, and fits the profile of a pitcher who can help cover unstable parts of a staff.
The Blue Jays need that kind of coverage. Dylan Cease is on the injured list with a mild left hamstring strain, José Berrios is gone for the long haul, and Toronto has spent days leaning on openers, bulk arms, and fresh call-ups.
That is why Schneider's «roster shuffle» line lands with some weight. This is not paperwork for the sake of paperwork. It is the next reaction to a pitching staff that keeps forcing the front office to move fast.
There are a few obvious names in the mix, especially at the back of the bullpen, because Toronto has been swapping arms in and out trying to protect innings. Schneider did not tip his hand on who is getting bumped, only that more change is coming.
And that is the key point. The Blue Jays made the trade, made the 40-man move, and still are not finished.
Connor Seabold is headed to Baltimore, and once he gets there, John Schneider's roster will not look exactly the same as it did before the deal went through.
Did the Blue Jays make the right call bringing Connor Seabold back with more roster moves still coming?
