The Toronto Blue Jays need to make a move that will shake up the team since where they currently are is not working which is why many believe they should trade former ace Kevin Gausman.
The Blue Jays have a lot of possibilities and areas that they could make changes to but moves involving the starting rotation that has been up and down all season might make for the biggest shake up.
Blue Jays fans are hoping the team trades pitcher Kevin Gausman
Gausman is still seen as the Blue Jays best pitcher but he has been off to another rocky start this season as he currently has a 3-4 record with a 4.59 ERA and 1.06 WHIP.
Kevin Gausman is technically the Toronto Blue Jays' ace, but he isn't pitching like one this season. The right-hander is 3-4 with a 4.59 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in nine starts after allowing six runs on 10 hits in 5.2 innings against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. -Valdez
Fans and insiders have been stating online that it is time for the Blue Jays to move on from Gausman as they could still get a good return for him and it would exactly the type of change the team needs.
"Forget the trade deadline, [general manager Ross] Atkins needs to trade Gausman and [Max] Scherzer for a real starting pitcher," one person said.
"Gausman can go anytime. He acts like he doesn't even care," another one said. "Sometimes he throws 92, sometimes 97. He's a strange dude. His time as a Jay is up. So inconsistent."
"It's now an automatic loss when Gausman pitches. He cannot be on this team after the deadline," another fan said. "Now we're probably getting swept by Detroit. As long as John Schneider is still the manager, this team will never go above .500 again. [Chairman] Edward Rodgers HAS to WAKE UP and ACT NOW!!!!!"
Fans are clearly fed up with Gausman's consistency issues and he continues to push towards the end of his career, now might be the time to move on from him while he still has value on the trade market.
