Ross Atkins continues to make poor decisions #bluejays #mlb

Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins has made a ton of poor decision but as the team looks like keep him in charge, it looks like fans should expect some more bad decisions.

Fans were disappointed to find out that Atkins would be returning for the 2025 season despite doing a terrible job this year and as he sticks around it looks like so will other issues.
The first being outfielder George Springer's terrible contract as the only year that the veteran outfielder played up to the number he signed for was the first year of the deal and going into year 4 this deal just gets worse by the day. Unfortunately it makes Springer pretty much unmovable and if Atkins were to consider it, he would be admitting defeat.
Springer is set to make $24.1 million in 2025 and 2026 - quite the price tag, especially for a 35-year-old who is clearly regressing. The Jays might be able to offload the contract if they eat a sizeable chunk of it or attach a prospect, but chances are, Springer will be back as their everyday right fielder, presumably leading off, because Atkins was the one who gave him a six-year deal. -Rotman

Another individual that would be gone if anyone else was in charge would be manager John Schneider as he has failed to get anything done with this team and has made a ton of questionable decisions.
Not only did Atkins survive this brutal season, but John Schneider is also back as the team's manager. This doesn't come as a major surprise considering all reporting suggested that no major changes will be made, but that doesn't mean that this is the right decision. -Rotman

Finally there is Bo Bichette, who at this point after the year he has had in almost untradeable and if they were to move him, they would likely get a small return which is why there is a good chance of him returning.
No Blue Jay had more of a lost season in 2024 than Bo Bichette. Not only was he limited to just 81 games played, but in those games, he had by far his worst offensive season. -Rotman
