'Maybe this is the end' - Buck Martinez sends emotional message to Blue Jays fans after Dodgers game
Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster Buck Martinez made his much anticipated return to the broadcast booth yesterday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and after the game sent a heartfelt message to Blue Jays fans.
Ahead of last night's game, Martinez announced the truth behind his health issues stating that he had been battling lung cancer for the last few months which is why he took some additional time off.

Martinez was back in the booth with Dan Shulman for the first time in a long time and despite the loss, fans were happy to hear his voice on their televisions once again.
After the game, Martinez spoke with Gilbert Ngabo from the Toronto Star about his return to the booth in which he admitted that there were time were he thought this might be the end and he would not be able to return.
«There was a lot of time I thought, well, maybe this is end, maybe this is the last time I did the broadcast,» an upbeat Martinez said. «Fortunately I have been lucky. I have great doctors and a wonderful wife who supports me, and everything turned out OK.» -Martinez
Martinez also had an emotional message for all Blue Jays fans stating that they have been great with him ever since he joined the organization as a catcher back in 1981 and during this tough period, their support has been incredible.
Martinez said Jays fans have been «fantastic to me» since he started playing for the team in 1981 as a catcher, part of a 17-year MLB playing career. Hearing from fans during this health scare and receiving messages of support is yet another reason why he's «anxious to get back and speak to them once again.» -Martinez
Clearly the love and support helped Martinez battle through this terrible diagnosis and has gotten back in the broadcast booth.
Martinez is dealing with a serious health issue which is why fans need to cherish every moment they have with him right now.
During the interview, Martinez also spoke on how great he thinks this Blue Jays team is stating that he believes they can play and hold their own against anyone adding that they have everything to go back to the World Series.
«I think they are established and have got everything they need to go to the World Series again,» -Martinez
Martinez and Blue Jays fans all over the country have a ton of faith in this team, now they just need to continue to deliever.
