The Toronto Blue Jays are apparently interested in signing free agent pitcher and future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer but it looks like it might be a hard sell according to Ben Nicholson-Smith.
The Blue Jays see adding a starting pitcher as a top priority this off-season and as they have missed out on multiple targets such as Corbin Burnes and Max Fried, they are now looking at Max Scherzer.

According to MLB insider Ben Nicholson-Smith, the Blue Jays might be very interested in him but it will be a hard sell to get him to come to Toronto with where the organization is currently at.

Nicholson-Smith did mentioned how if the Blue Jays are at least able to add a player another top end player which they just did as they close a deal with Anthony Santander pending a physical it would help land Scherzer.
One reason beyond the obvious that it's a good idea for the Blue Jays to complete a deal with a slugger such as Anthony Santander or perhaps Pete Alonso:
