Ever since the Toronto Blue Jays selected Bo Bichette in the 2016 MLB Draft, he was seen as a key piece of the team's future core.
But after signing Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to an incredible 14-year, $500 million contract, signing another star around that price might be out of the question for Bichette and the Blue Jays.
MLB insider reveals that the Brewers are interested in trading for star shortstop Bo Bichette.
It's easy to see how
Bichette could contribute to a contending team. He's currently batting .292 over 46 games this season and has been an energizing presence at the top of the Blue Jays' lineup.

Jake Ferraro from the Jays Journal writes that according to Athlon Sports' Dave Gasper, one team that could heavily benefit from Bichette are the Milwaukee Brewers.
"The Brewers have been stuck in the same postseason purgatory that the Blue Jays have found themselves in. They've won the National League Central in each of the past two seasons, but lost in the Wild Card Series both seasons." -Ferraro
The Brewers have been in a bit of a dry spell, failing to make the National League Championship Series since 2018, so it would make sense to look into trading for star talent.
"He'd join a lineup that already has Rhys Hoskins, Brice Turang, Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio and William Contreras. Bichette's presence in the lineup would give the Brewers a huge advantage in a very winnable National League Central." -Ferraro
As long as the Blue Jays continue to hover around the .500 mark, Bichette's name is likely to keep coming up as a potential trade target this summer.
Stay tuned for further developments!
