Shane Bieber and Jose Berrios are officially throwing off mounds again, giving this fractured rotation a massive dose of early-season hope.

Spring training felt like an absolute cursed hospital ward for the Toronto pitching staff.
Every time you refreshed your feed, another important arm was hitting the injured list.
Losing Bowden Francis for the entire 2026 season to Tommy John surgery was a devastating blow to our depth.
Then the panic truly set in when Berrios and Bieber were both abruptly shut down with concerning elbow issues.
Seeing them officially scheduled to throw off mounds changes the entire mood around the clubhouse today.
Berrios posted a solid 4.17 ERA over 166 innings last year, eating valuable innings when we needed them most.

These veteran anchors are speeding toward a return

Fans can finally exhale knowing the true pillars of the starting rotation are dodging serious setbacks.
Bieber showed exactly why we trust him, logging a pristine 3.57 ERA after his return and dominating in October.
We were staring down the barrel of endless bullpen days, which is an absolute recipe for disaster.
Even better, the scary shoulder impingement for phenom Trey Yesavage (Age 22, Drafted Round 1, 2024 by Toronto) is officially considered minor.
Yesavage is the undisputed future of this staff, and avoiding a major structural issue is the biggest win of all.
This team is built to compete right now, and you simply cannot do that without your top arms fully intact.
The offense will have to grind out some ugly wins early on to buy the pitching staff some extra time.
Vladdy needs to put the lineup on their backs and generate some early cushion for the fill-in starters.
Once the Makina and Bieber are back throwing darts, this team becomes a legitimate nightmare for the rest of the league.
We just need the bullpen to hold the line and keep the ship steady until the premium reinforcements arrive.
The baseball season is a long marathon, and getting healthy in April pays off massive dividends in September.
