The Los Angeles Dodgers may boast a star-studded lineup, but their roster still has some gaps.

According to MLB insider Buster Olney's latest update on the Toronto Blue Jays, they could explore a trade for Bo Bichette to help fill one of those needs.

Blue Jays star shortstop Bo Bichette may be traded to the Dodgers.

Aaliyan Mohammed fromThe Sporting News writes that on a recent episode of Baseball Tonight with Buster Olney, the MLB insider suggested that the Toronto Blue Jays could take an opportunistic approach at the trade deadline.
Olney believes that even if the Blue Jays are in the postseason hunt, they should consider moving key players, like pending free agent Bo Bichette, if they're not legitimate World Series contenders.
"I think the Blue Jays could consider something like that. They have the third-worst run differential in all of the American League and the second-fewest runs in the American League. It's not working. I think they should consider something like that." -Olney

Mohammed also writes that if the Blue Jays do make Bichette available, many teams will be calling.
"He signed a $33 million extension before the 2023 season and is due for a payday. He is a two-time All-Star and has led the American League in hits twice. After three consecutive 20-plus home run seasons, he has just five since the start of 2024. However, he is proving he can still be a great hitter." -Mohammed

Bo Bichette is currently slashing .277/.315/.368 with 16 RBIs, and his addition could provide a boost to the Dodgers' struggling infield. With Max Muncy underperforming, Bichette could slot in at shortstop, freeing up Mookie Betts to move back to second base and allowing Tommy Edman to shift to third.
"He has noted his desire to keep playing with Guerrero, but the team may not be able to keep him around. They just committed $500 million to Guerrero and Bichette could be looking for a $200 million deal." -Mohammed

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
