Pittsburgh Pirates make massive announcement regarding former Blue Jay Spencer Horwitz

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced that former Toronto Blue Jays infielder Spencer Horwitz will finally be making his first appearance of the season.
Since being acquired by the Pirates during the off-season, Horwitz has been out after having wrist surgery during the off-season which is why he has been out up until now.
Pirates announce the return of Spencer Horwitz
The Pirates announced on Friday that
Horwitzwould be joining the Pirates in Philadelphia with a possibility of making his debut over the weekend but they announced that it would not be on Friday night.
First baseman Spencer Horwitz will join the Pirates in Philadelphia and be active for this weekend's series against the Phillies, reports Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. It'll be the Pirates debut for Horwitz, whom Pittsburgh acquired in the offseason. -Adams
Yesterday, the Pirates announced that they had finally activated Horwitz for their game and consequently optioned first baseman and outfielder Matt Gorski too the minor leagues to make room for Horwitz.
Horwitz is being activated for today's game, as manager Don Kelly told reporters (including Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) this afternoon. First baseman and outfielder Matt Gorski is being optioned to the minor leagues in a corresponding move. -Adams
Horwitz ended up making his first appearance yesterday in the Pirates game against the Phillies in which they lost 5-2 and Horwitz finished the game with two at bats, striking out on both occasions.
Thee young first baseman had a great rookie season in the MLB with the Blue Jays last season which is why it will be interesting to see how he does in his sophomore season.
