Buster Olney reports on the Blue Jays trade deadline plans
Just a few weeks ago, the Blue Jays were in a very tough spot as many thought that they would likely be sellers at the trade deadline with no real shot on making the playoffs but things have turned around in a major way.
The Blue Jays are currently riding quite the hot streak which is why many such as Buster Olney believe that they will certainly be buyers at this year's trade deadline as they look to load their roster before playoffs.
Buster Olney of ESPN joined TSN 1050's First Up on Wednesday morning, and quickly dispelled any notion that Toronto is looking an in-season retool at this point of the year. -TSN
«They're a million miles away from being sellers at this point,» he said. «They actually, to meyou can look ahead and say there's a real path for them to make the playoffs and they will play this out and they won't be sellers before the deadline.» -Olney
The Blue Jays currently sit 5.5 games behind the first place New York Yankees in the American League East tied with the Tampa Bay Rays but if they continue this hot streak, they can definitely cut that lead down.
Toronto has a serious chance of making the playoffs especially if they can finally get the majority of their players back from injured reserve such as Max Scherzer and Alek Manoah.
Things would have to go seriously wrong from now until the trade deadline if the Blue Jays end up being sellers.
