Regardless of whether they make the playoffs, they're expected to have a significant impact on the MLB postseason races.
Blue Jays outfielder may be their most valuable asset ahead of trade deadline.
Kenneth Teape from the Toronto Blue Jays On Si writes if the Blue Jays slip out of playoff contention and opt to sell, several players on their roster will attract interest from teams across the league.
Seth Carlson from Yardbarker claims that Blue Jays' veteran outfielder Myles Straw is the team's most tradeable asset.
«However, Straw could be an interesting depth piece for another team's pennant chase given his strong defense in center field and surprising .289 batting average." -Carlson
Considering the Blue Jays' offensive struggles this season, trading a player who has performed fairly well might seem unwise. However, addressing other roster needs by trading Straw while his value is at its peak would be a smart move.
"The only hesitancy Toronto would have is the health of Daulton Varsho. When he is healthy, he is the every day center fielder, pushing Straw to a backup role. Unfortunately, he started the season on the injured list and is back on the injured list with a hamstring injury." -Teape
While it's important for the Blue Jays to have Varsho as insurance, they'll need to carefully consider trading Straw for pitching help before making a final decision.
