Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette has been surrounded by contract rumors all season and MLB insider Jeff Passan just dropped quite the large update.

A recent report suggest that the Blue Jays are still the favorites to land Bichette this off-season but that does not mean that he will not enter free agency.

Jeff Passan states Bo Bichette will sign for near $300 million

In a recent report, Passan mentioned how Bichette is headed for a massive payday in free agency this off-season even if he ends up staying in Toronto.
According to Passan, he believes that Bichette should land somewhere between Xander Bogaerts' $280 million contract and Trea Turner's $300 million contract.
"Whatever position Bichette mans, wherever he plays, he is a hitter in an era with far too few. Maybe he's not a $300 million player. But if Turner is worth $300 million and Xander Bogaerts is worth $280 million and both were at least two years older than Bichette when they did sign, surely the market won't leave him high and dry." -Passan

Passan is not the only one that believes Bichette will be able to touch around $300 million as Scott Braun from Foul Territory went on Sportsnet the Fan 590 today and stated the same thing.
«We haven't done all the comps yet, but I'm thinking somewhere in the $300 million range.»

After how last season went for Bichette, not many believed he would be looking at a new contract worth so much but he has had an incredible bounce back season and will be likely one of the most sought after players this off-season.
Bichette currently leads the MLB in hits with 177 and also had 18 homeruns and 91 RBIs to go along with it which proves just how incredible he has been.
If he ends up signing for this much with the Blue Jays, he will have the second largest contract in Blue Jays history only behind his friend Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
