Two tickets at Rogers Centre for the Toronto Blue Jays can already run you well over $100 before you buy a single hot dog.

Add concessions for two, and that number climbs fast.

There's a way around it, and it's not a secret the Blue Jays are hiding from the fans.

Rogers Centre allows outside food, as long as it's wrapped, bagged, or sealed in a container.

That means a pizza, a cake, even a sushi platter can walk through the gates with you for game time.

The only real rule is size. Whatever you bring has to fit under your seat which is the majority of snacks and food that any fan would even consider bringing to the ballpark.

Non-alcoholic drinks are allowed too, as long as the bottle or can is 600 mL or smaller.

The one catch fans need to know before entering

Bottles and cans still get checked at the gate. Security will ask you to remove caps or pop the tab before you walk in.

That's a projectile precaution, not a loophole closer. It's a small trade for skipping the concession line entirely.

Toronto is away in Tampa Bay and New York this week before returning home August 25 for a six-game homestand.

That stretch brings the Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners to Rogers Centre, with the Blue Jays still fighting for playoff positioning which makes every series moving forward a crucial one.

Bringing your own food won't fix a bad bullpen night. But it'll save you real money while you watch the Blue Jays try to hold their spot in the race.
