The Toronto Blue Jays have been making a lot of roster moves lately as they have released their second pitcher this week.

The Blue Jays have release young prospect pitcher

The Blue Jays posted on the Dunedin Blue Jays transactions list that they have decided to part ways with RHP Eliander Alcalde as he has been released and is once again a free agent.
While Alcalde is the second pitcher to be released by the Blue Jays organization in the last few days, he is the second player to be released in the last 24 hours as Orelvis Martinez has also been officially released.

Alcalde has been with the Organization since 2021 when he signed as a free agent and will now be looking for his first contract as a free agent for the first time in 4 years.
Across 5 seasons with the Blue Jays, Alcalde never made it higher than Single-A ball which is where he played this season finishing with a 3.86 ERA in 30.1 innings pitched and 29 strikeouts in 13 games.
While these numbers are not bad, the Blue jays probably decided to release him since they did not see a future for him in the organization after spending so many years at the same level.
It will be interesting to see if another team ends up taking a risk to sign the young pitcher which should be the case since he is only 22 years old and could end up developing into a decent pitcher.
