Game 1 of the ALCS is set to go Sunday afternoon between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners, the Mariners had to play a 15 inning game to book their ticket to get to the ALCS, as a result they decided to stay in Seattle as long as possible before arriving in Toronto the night before the game.

The Toronto Blue Jays are entering the ALCS well rested, having beaten the New York Yankees rather quickly after having a bye to the ALDS.

Mariners make questionable move procrastinating their arrival to Toronto to face the Blue Jays in ALCS.

Ian Harrison of the AP News reported on the Mariners decision ahead of game 1, it's a questionable call because no matter what they had to fly in and the players could have just rested in Toronto, now they have to play right after a flight.
"After celebrating their 3-2 win over Detroit in Game 5 of the AL Division Series, the team stayed in Seattle before heading to Toronto for a late Saturday arrival ahead of a AL Championship Series matchup against the Blue Jays."-Harrison

Mariners manager Don Wilson assured everyone they will be ready to go Sunday afternoon when the ALCS gets underway.
"«Our guys will be ready. We'll get there tonight, get some rest, and we'll be ready to go.»-Wilson

It is important to note also that the Mariners burned through three starting pitchers Friday night against the Detroit Tigers, where Luis Castillo and Logan Gilbert both had to come in for relief. The Toronto Blue Jays definitely have an advantage in the energy department as they ended the New York Yankees' season Wednesday night, not having to burn any starting pitchers in relief.
"After eliminating the New York Yankees with a Game 4 win in their Division Series on Wednesday night, the Blue Jays were free to relax on Friday. Outfielder Myles Straw and teammate Davis Schneider went out together to a Toronto bar to see who'd they face in the team's eighth trip to the ALCS, its first since 2016.-Harrison

It will only be known on Sunday afternoon if this was a good call for the Mariners, there doesn't seem to be much logic behind it, but if they steal game 1 in Toronto, it won't really matter if it was a good choice or not.
