A recent report came out a few days ago stating that multiple MLB rival executives told insider Ken Rosenthal that the Blue Jays are open to trading Bichette this off-season regardless of what has been said by Atkins to the media.
Executives from three rival teams told The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal that the Blue Jays aren't shopping the 26-year-old infielder but are open to dealing him for a high price. -McWilliam
According to Rosenthal, he has now confirmed that the Blue Jays are open to trading Bichette but are looking for a high price with the return which is normal since they will not trade him just to get him off the roster.
The #BlueJays are open to trading SS Bo Bichette, “but only for a high price,” per

Clearly if the Blue Jays are willing to shop Bichette it is because they are still uncertain if they will offer him a contract extension as he is entering the final year of his current deal in 2025.
If the Blue Jays do trade Bichette, the will ideally need to target either a first baseman or third baseman so that they can move Ernie Clement to shortstop to replace Bichette as it seems unlikely they would trade for a shortstop.
Hopefully if Atkins does decide to go this route, he is able to land the Blue Jays a worthy return.
