Joey Loperfido and Nathan Lukes are sparking major trade interest as the Toronto Blue Jays look to refine their championship-caliber roster before spring training.

The Rogers Centre is buzzing with anticipation after an incredible 94-68 season that saw the Blue Jays push all the way to the World Series.
Despite the heartbreaking loss to the Dodgers, the front office is not sitting idle while the division rivals regroup.
Ross Atkins has been aggressive this winter, adding arms like Dylan Cease and Cody Ponce to an already elite rotation.
However, this aggressive spending has created a crowded table in the outfield that simply cannot fit everyone.

Beyond stars like George Springer and Daulton Varsho, the depth chart is overflowing with legitimate Major League talent.
Joey Loperfido (Drafted 7th round, 2021 by Houston) proved his worth last year with a blistering .333 average in limited action.
Nathan Lukes (Drafted 7th round, 2015 by Cleveland) is coming off a career season where he posted a solid .730 OPS.

Toronto must turn its hitting surplus into bullpen gold

It is a massive relief to see this franchise finally dealing from a position of such undeniable strength.
The phone is ringing because teams are desperate for hitters who can actually put the ball in play.
Toronto led the league with a 78.5% contact rate last year, and Lukes was a huge part of 그 that identity.
Trading from this surplus for a high-leverage reliever could be the final piece of the puzzle.
Davis Schneider (Drafted 28th round, 2017 by Toronto) provides even more flexibility with his ability to play the infield.
The emergence of Addison Barger as a power threat also makes some of these veteran depth pieces expendable.
It is better to trade these players now for maximum value than to let them languish in Triple-A Buffalo.
Winning a pennant was a dream, but this group is clearly hungry for the entire trophy this time around.
