The Blue Jays signed infielder Gabriel Cancel to a minor league deal on June 25th and the experiment is already over. <a href='https://www.milb.com/player/gabriel-cancel-663708' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Cancel</a> has been in Triple-A since he signed but the Bisons announced last night that he had been officially released. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/Atkins2Alcatraz/status/1823194058241560819'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> This comes as a bit of a surprise since <a href='https://www.milb.com/player/gabriel-cancel-663708' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Cancel</a> was doing well at the plate in Triple-A with a .228 batting average, .362 OBP and .801 OPS. While these numbers are not outstanding, this is far from bad numbers that would result in a players getting cut after less than 2 months.
