The Blue Jays signed Eduardo Escobar this offseason to a minor league contract but he has been playing very well at Spring Training and is forcing the Jays to take a serious look at him.

Blue Jays Escobar Might be More Than Fans Expected
In the offseason, the Blue Jays signed third baseman Escobar to a Minor League deal. While this signing was supposed to be nothing serious, Escobar has been playing surprisingly well at Spring Training which might give him a real spot in the big leagues once again.
In yesterday's game against the Pirates, Escobar hit his first home run as a Blue Jay. He also hit a double that gave the Jays the lead in the game against the Phillies.
First home run of Spring Training for Eduardo Escobar.
Eduardo Escobar is gettin' goin,' as he gives the Jays the lead with a double!
Second straight game with an extra base hit.

Escobar is far past his prime and this is only Spring Training, but the Jays might have a surprise on their hands if Escobar continues to impress.
