The Blue Jays trimming the spring camp roster brings us one massive step closer to real meaningful baseball.
Seeing young arms sent back down to the minor league complex always hurts a little bit. We all want the underdogs to somehow break camp with the big club.
Spring training cuts are an unavoidable reality of the business. You simply cannot keep everyone when the games start to matter.
Sending these pitchers to Triple-A and minor league camp is actually a massive positive. They need consistent innings to firmly establish their rhythm.
The organization officially announced the latest wave of inevitable roster moves today to thin out the herd.
The team dropped the news on social media to keep everyone completely updated on the shifting dynamic.
ROSTER MOVES:
🔹 LHP Adam Macko has been optioned to Triple-A
🔹RHPs Fernando Perez and Gage Stanifer have been reassigned to Minor League camp

Adam Macko (Age 25, Drafted Round 7, 2019 by Seattle Mariners) is heading to Triple-A Buffalo to refine his nasty breaking stuff.
He posted a 3-9 record with a 4.76 ERA last year in the high minors. He just needs a bit more control to maximize his elite potential.
These young pitchers represent the bright future of our rotation
We absolutely love seeing the farm system completely loaded with electric arms.
Gage Stanifer (Age 22, Drafted Round 19, 2022 by Toronto Blue Jays) is another fascinating piece heading back to the development lab.
He pitched to a brilliant 8-6 record with a 2.86 ERA across three levels last summer. His strikeout numbers are genuinely jaw dropping.
Fernando Perez (Age 22, Undrafted Free Agent, 2022 by Toronto Blue Jays) will join Stanifer in minor league camp to continue his rapid rise.
The righty registered a 6-7 record with a 3.04 ERA while eating up important innings. His command of the strike zone is incredibly mature for his age.
Giving these guys everyday reps against minor league hitters builds the ultimate foundation. They will be ready when the inevitable big league injuries happen.
Buffalo and New Hampshire are going to feature some incredibly fun pitching matchups this summer. The depth is finally starting to look like a serious weapon.
Keep a close watch on the box scores as the weather gets warmer. One of these arms will definitely pitch meaningful innings at the Rogers Centre very soon.
