The Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox are in very similar positions this winter and it looks like the Red Sox will try to steal a few free agents away from Toronto which include Max Fried, Blake Snell and Corbin Burnes.

Both the Blue Jays and Red Sox are looking to improve their starting rotation this off-season which is why both teams have been linked to the top pitchers currently available on the free agent market.

The Red Sox are looking to steal a couple free agents away from the Blue Jays

The Blue Jays have been ranked as the top team to land free agent Max Fried and have been linked to both Blake Snell and Corbin Burnes as well but a recent report suggests that the Red Sox will try to land two of the three pitchers.
The Red Sox have apparently made it known to the free agents representation that they plan on trying to sign two of these top pitchers as they want to have an incredible starting rotation next season.
This is why they met with Soto, told everyone how well it went, and informed agents that they not only want to sign one of the marquee free-agent pitchers in Corbin Burnes, Max Fried and Blake Snell, but actually want to sign two. They are adamant on signing at least one lefty between Fried and Snell. -Nightengale

One anonymous GM even stated that the Red Sox are pretty confident that they will be able to land at least one of these three pitchers and will announce the signing rather soon.

One GM: «I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them announce they've got one of those guys pretty soon. They're pretty confident.»
This is bad news for the Blue Jays since these seem to be their main targets for the off-season but hopefully they will at least land one starting pitcher to help their current rotation.
