The Toronto Blue Jays have had an extremely busy past few days involving multiple roster moves and now one of their pitchers, Jose Urena, is headed to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Former Blue Jays pitcher Jose Urena signs with the Dodgers
Most were surprised that the Blue Jays let Urena go of all pitcher since he put up solid numbers in the few innings he pitched for the Blue Jays as he had a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched with 5 strikeouts.
The Dodgers did not let Urena sit on the free agent market long as they announced yesterday afternoon that they signed him to a one year major league deal and had him active for their game last night.
Jose Urena signed with the Dodgers and will be in LA tonight for the game against the Mets
Sources: Dodgers will designate C Chuckie Robinson for assignment to clear a 40-man spot for RHP José Urena, who is signing a MLB deal. Robinson was just claimed a couple days ago off waivers.
Urena made his first appearance for the Dodgers last night against the Mets in which he pitched 0.2 innings, giving up 1 hit with zero strikeouts and 0 earned runs in a 6-5 win.
Clearly it did not take Urena too much time to land of his feet after being released.
