The Toronto Blue Jays announced right before their game against the Chicago White Sox that relief pitcher xxx has been placed on IL with an injury as they have called up Justin Bruihl.

Blue Jays announce pitcher Nick Sandlin has been placed on IL as they called up Justin Burihl

This evening manager John Schneider told Keegan Matheson that Justin Bruihl was called up and placed on the Taxi Squad since there will likely be a roster move before the game tonight.
Since Bruihl was recently sent down and it has been less than 15 days, the Blue Jays could only call up Bruihl and activate him for a player headed to IL.
Lefty Justin Bruihl is up on taxi for now as Blue Jays working through «a possible roster move,» said John Schneider.

Since he hasn't been down 10 days yet, someone hitting IL is needed to get him back up.
The Blue Jays then confirmed that Sandlin has been placed on 15 day IL with right elbow inflammation and they have called up Bruihl and he will be available tonight against the White Sox.

ROSTER MOVES:

LHP Justin Bruihl recalled from Triple-A and will be active tonight

Bruihl has had a very small sample size with the Blue Jays as he has only pitched 3.1 innings but he has proved that he can pitch as he currently has a 2.70 ERA with Toronto.

Hopefully Sandlin will not be out of the lineup too long as the Blue Jays cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries this season but regardless of that they have been able to keep winning games.
