Blue Jays announce injury update regarding Tyler Heineman and Andres Gimenez
According to reports, Gimenez is set to return to the Blue Jays as early as next week and the second baseman is currently playing in a few more rehab games in Dunedin before the team makes a decision.
It looks like Andrés Giménez could be back with the Toronto Blue Jays next week.
The second baseman (quad) is scheduled to play two more rehab games with single-A Dunedin on Saturday and Sunday.
If all goes well, he could return to Toronto after Monday's off-day, Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling reports. -Sportsnet
Heineman on the other hand is recovering from a concussion and has been in Triple-A with the Buffalo Bisons over the weekend on a rehab stint in which he is also expected to make a return soon.
Meanwhile, backup catcher Tyler Heineman (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment with triple-A Buffalo on Saturday. He'll catch Saturday and DH on Sunday. -Sportsnet
Getting both these players back will be big for the Blue Jays would cannot seem to shake off these injuries as it seems like every week a new players goes down and is headed for IL.
The Blue Jays are hoping that Gimenez' time off helped him reset since he was struggling at the plate before his injury despite a solid start to the 2025 season.
