The Toronto Blue Jays took on the Los Angeles Angels without Vladimir Guerrero Jr and manager John Schneider just gave an update on his current injury.

The Blue Jays had Will Wagner on first base yesterday as Guerrero rested his foot but it looks like the injury is not too bad after all.
Schneider announced that Guerrero was given the day off to rest his foot but that it is just a little sore and that he was available off the bench yesterday.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is just a little sore and could be available to pinch-hit.

Anthony Santander is about a week away from starting to swing a bat again. I'd expect him to need a few weeks to ramp up after that, too, but we'll see. #BlueJays
John Schneider said Vladimir Guerrero Jr's foot is sore so the Blue Jays are giving him «a day off, get him off his feet. If we need him, think he'll be OK.»

Bo Bichette hitting third is just covering for Guerrero today, said Schneider.
In extra innings last night, Guerrero actually stepped on deck to pinch hit for Will Wagner but the Blue Jays did not end up needing him due to a walk off bunt by Ernie Clement.

This hopefully means that Guerrero was just getting some rest in to avoid playing through pain but that the injury is nothing serious.
However, the Blue Jays need to watch out because they also thought that Andres Gimenez' ankle was fine and he ended up going down with a serious injury yesterday.
Hopefully this ends up being nothing serious but with how things went with Gimenez, the Blue Jays need to be cautious.
