Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Ernie Clement was pulled from the game yesterday against the Los Angeles Angels and the team just announced an injury update.
Blue Jays announce injury update regarding second baseman Andres Gimenez
Gimenez seems to have injured his ankle on Wednesday during a game against the Yankees but for some reason, the Blue Jays decided to keep him in the lineup for the next few days.
This ended up been a costly mistake as Gimenez hurt his ankle quite badly running from first to third base and was pulled from the game.
Andres Gimenez's ankle gave as he went first-to-third on a George Springer single. After a lengthy discussion, he comes out of the game.
Gimenez jammed the ankle Wed vs Yankees but returned to lineup tonight, delivering an RBI single.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider admitted that Gimenez needed an MRI last night and that they are still waiting on the results.
Schneider also added that Gimenez was already hurt but they had him play because they did not think the injury was too bad which ended up being a big mistake.
