News broke this morning that the Blue Jays have signed their second catcher in the last 48 hours as they agree to terms on a minor league deal with former Missouri State Bears catcher Dylan Leach .
Former Missouri State catcher Dylan Leach signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday after spending the first part of his professional career with the independent Billings Mustangs. -MSU Athletics
Time to celebrate as Mustangs Catcher Dylan Leach has officially had his contract purchased by the Toronto Blue Jays!
Leach arrived in Billings midway through the 2024 season and returned as a vocal leader in the Mustangs clubhouse, he smashed 3 homers over his final 3 games!
Leach was most recently began his pro career playing for independent baseball team the Billings Mustangs in the Pioneer League where he was putting up some extremely impressive numbers.
This season with the Mustangs, Leach put up 3 homeruns and 13 RBIs in 12 games with a .386 batting average, .517 on base percentage and .750 slugging percentage leading up to the Blue Jays signing him.
There has yet to be an announcement on where the Blue Jays plan on sending him to start his career in the organization but there is a good chance it will be with the FCL Blue Jays.
