Blue Jays apparently promoted Joey Loeprfido to likely trade him at the deadline
Loperfido only got called up for the first time this season last week after starting the year off in the minors and has been off to a solid start with 5 hits, 5 RBIs and 1 homerun in 5 at bats.
Now that he has gotten off to a solid start since his promotion, Loperfido is building up his trade value in a positive way. In 11 at bats, he already has five hits, a home run, and five RBI. The big thing for him this season was cutting down his swings and misses in Triple-A and he did that, dropping his whiff rate to 25.9%. -Dionis
The Blue Jays seem to have called up Loperfido to up his value for the trade deadline which it clearly has now gone up with how he has played and they will likely be able to get a solid return for the young outfielder.
Without promoting him, Loperfido would not have added as much value to his name. He has been solid in Triple-A, but not great. His added production at the big league level is truly increasing his trade value and it was a great idea to get him up here while we await the big bats to return. -Dionis
While keeping Loperfido would not be a bad move since he is a solid player, the Blue Jays simply have too many outfielders on their roster and Loperfido could probably bring them back the biggest return.
The Blue Jays are clearly going to be buyers but that does not mean they will not be looking to move some players in order to land others that could impact the team right away like a pitcher or right handed bat.
