The Toronto Blue Jays are still not sure what to do with all-star shortstop Bo Bichette and it looks like the Boston Red Sox are very interested in acquiring him.
The Red Sox are having quite the underwhelming season which is why many believe that they will be looking to make some big moves in the off-season and looking to bring in some big free agents.
Red Sox looking to steal Bo Bichette away from the Blue Jays in the off-season
At this point, it seems safe to say that the Blue Jays will not be signing Bichette to a contract extension and the half way point of the season has hit without any conversations being had.
The Red Sox still have Trevor Story but with his best year's behind him, they will likely look to find a replacement which is where Bichette enters the picture.

Bichette will likely hit free agency this off-season and while he could end up being a steal in free agency if he has a bad second half of the season, there is a good chance that he will land a big deal which the Red Sox could afford, especially after trading Rafael Devers.
"Bo Bichette is bouncing back following a down year in 2024 and will likely hit the free agent market this offseason. Depending on how his 2025 campaign ends, Bichette may be looking for a pillow contract to reestablish his value and could be a buy-low candidate for Boston this winter.» -Koch
The Blue Jays seem to not be too interested in keeping Bichette around even if they stated they do not want to trade him at the deadline which simply means they will likely lose him in free agency for nothing in return.
While there is definitely an upside to keeping Bichette around for a playoff push, getting nothing in return for a player of his caliber will certainly hurt them next season, especially if they are unable to find a suitable replacement.
